Description

HPN - Service Provider Solution Architect and Technical Consultant

Overview:
Telco carriers and service providers are complex customers who require an approach from a vendor that covers the requirements and the needs of their whole value chain.
Network technology is at the core of their business and it is intimately related with their operations and business in general.
Hence, the need to position and relate the networking technology as a component of the HP end to end portfolio and build complex solutions that can make a difference for the carrier or its enterprise customer CXO.

Whether it is Selling through or selling to the telcos, the requirement is for professionals who can speak the carrier language and engage them at the appropriate executive level, with a solution minded and networking approach.

To this purpose we are building a team of high caliper professionals within he HP Networking BU to bring their wealth of experience in the carrier, telco, service providers markets to fulfill the growth objectives for HPN. Within this team we are looking for a technical consultant with the following characteristics.


Responsibilities:
•To create specific HPN customer awareness in those market segments that has networking as their core business, following a "solution" oriented approach, as opposed to a product one to correlate end to end solutions such as cloud computing and Content Delivery with networking technology and customize these to fulfill the customer and their end user needs.
•To engage networking stakeholders at CTO, CIO and VP Networking and Operations level to illustrate how HPN enables the carrier and its end users to fulfill their strategic objectives
•To support in positioning HPN portfolio with and respond to RFQs that encompass more than pure networking aspects.
•To Work in team with the Service Provider Sales Manager, the account managers and the network engineers to Architect the appropriate technical solution to meet the customer's business requirements and account team
•To provide accurate feedbacks, contribute and influence the product management process to ensure that carriers segment requirements are appropriately encompassed in future roadmaps.
•To drive the product and solutions certification program with carriers aiming at building a HPN centric carrier portfolio to support ramping-up the related revenues.
•To support the design and implementation of Proof Of Concept, when required by the account strategy
•To act as a champion for a specific networking related discipline within the Service Provider team.
•To deliver customer workshops as appropriate for further understanding of issues and buy-in to HP's proposal


Qualifications


Education and Experience Required:

Technical University or Bachelor's degree; advanced degree preferred
Typically 12+ years experience in technical consultative selling and account management
Technical and solutions experience in appropriate industry
Experience in vertical industry preferred

Knowledge and Skills Required:

• Deep understanding of HP's product & service capability for multiple BU's
• Expert in competitive solutions knowledge.
• Leverages HP solutions to support customer IT strategic directions, creating extensive customer business value.
• Utilizes deep knowledge of customer value chain and business requirements to create and propose solutions
• Applies deep understanding of technical innovations & trends to solving customer business problems
• Establishes thought leadership in technical specialty area with customers
• Demonstrated ability to work as the lead for large complex projects at a Regional or global level
• Has demonstrated extensive hands-on level skills with a broad range of the technology
• Persuasively communicates the value of the solution in terms of financial return and impact on customer business goals
• Understands business metrics and drivers for multiple levels of customer management and appropriately tailors communications to demonstrate value
• Extensive level of industry acumen; keeps current with trends and able to converse with client on issues and challenges at multiple levels of customer management
• Demonstrates strong communications skills with customer management, as well as C-level executives
• Leverages deep understanding of the competition - both positioning strategy and technology - to create competitive advantage for HP
