Main purpose of job

To design, implementation and maintain the company’s network security systems to support the VCS technology strategy and wider business objectives of the company.



Main responsibilities



Analyse user or business requirements and identify network security solutions.
Develop detailed specifications for network security requirements.
Design, implement and maintain network security components to meet user, business and regulatory requirements and to improve the security, efficiency and effectiveness of VeriFone systems and services.
Test network security components and make any necessary modifications to ensure that they operate effectively.
Develop and implement systems and processes to ensure the accurate and timely collection, analysis and publication of data and information.
Publish regular status and performance reports and ad hoc reports as required to enable managers to monitor progress against organization objectives.
Regularly monitor data systems and processes to ensure that change is managed in accordance with the company’s change management policy and maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Provide an advisory/consultancy service for all aspects of network security, maintain an awareness of developments in network security and review the application of new technologies to further support VCS and wider business goals.
Organize and participate in an on call rota to ensure business systems are supported and available in line with the relevant SLA.

Knowledge, skills and experience required

The job requires:

significant experience in the design, development and implementation of network security systems;
significant experience in an online banking/transactional environment;
experience of working within regulatory compliance frameworks i.e. PCI-DSS, SOX, etc.
experience of best practice IT governance/management frameworks ITIL, COBIT
analytical and problem-solving skills;
good communication skills;
a degree or equivalent experience in IT/Communications;
a broad understanding of computer systems, computer applications and operating systems.
