Job Description
The successful applicant will join an established team of dedicated engineers operating VeriFone’s data centre environments. The team design, build and support highly available environments for VeriFone’s in house applications. Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, the applicant once trained will take part in the 24hr on-call rota supporting a number of datacentres within the EMEA region.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for operational excellence of the Server and Storage infrastructure of the Managed Service.
Set and achieve service level targets.
Coordinates / contributes to PCI/DSS certification process.
Coordinates and helps prioritize enhancements to assure a sound overall architecture and uniterrupted operations.
Provides System Monitoring & Alerting.
Provides Capacity & Availability management.
Adherence to strict Change Control processes.
Builds process for rapid problem detection and resolution, including escalation policies.
Knowledge and Leadership Skills
Industry knowledge and leadership skills that are required include:
♦ Minimum of a BS in Management Information Systems or equivalent industry experience.
♦ Drives operational excellence through people, process and tools
♦ Excellent inter-personal skills including coaching and motivating people, interacting with Senior Management, and building strong working relationship with business managers and product development teams.
♦ Process and documentation oriented
♦ Problem solver who can lead team through crisis situations through rational approach, mature judgment and clear coordination of tasks.
Technical Knowledge
Technical knowledge and skills that are required include:
♦ Strong working knowledge of Data Center technologies, including: Windows 2008/12, VMware5.5/6, Linux / Unix.
♦ Experience of access control using RSA, IDM, AD including Group Policiy management
♦ Expertise of network based storage systems and SAN, VSAN architecture.
♦ Experience with datacenter hardware installation and configuration of HP servers and blade systems.
♦ Advanced knowledge of established internal and external IT industry standards, practices, and methodologies as well as advanced analytical and problem solving skills.
Technical knowledge and skills that are desired include:
♦ Experience operating large, high-availability, redundant, transaction-based systems.
♦ Powershell scripting an advantage
♦ Experience / understanding of Hyperconverged systems.
♦ Priority given to candidates with Puppet, Ansible, Git and Jenkins deployment automation experience
♦ Experience of backup solutions in a virtualized environment, namely Commvault.
♦ Good understanding of Networks and Firewall infrastructure
Education and Experience
♦ BS in Management Information Systems or equivalent
♦ VMware, Redhat or Microsoft certifications preferred.
♦ ITIL experience desired
♦ 5 years professional experience in IT
♦ Experience of remote working and working in a globally dispersed team.
♦ Exposure of working in a PCI DSS compliance environment advantageous.

♦ Acceptance that European travel to datacenters would be required as needed.
