Job Purpose:
The Lead Architecture Engineer is responsible for ensuring innovative and cutting-edge network and related security services are developed and offered to customers across multiple data centres. The Lead Architecture Engineer is also responsible for supporting the development of orchestration and automation of new propositions and services maximising provisioning speeds and self-service.
Requirements:
· To be an open-minded creative innovator enjoying working technology while able to think big, but have their feet on the ground and translating the ideas to successful business outcomes
· To be an individual who embraces a “start-up” culture with a consulting-style “can-do” intellect, imagination, creativity and discipline
· A hands-on experience able to do what it takes to exploit and deliver products and services incorporating a mix of open source and commercial market leading solutions
· To have hands-on experience in a traditional Network and Security Operations along with modern SDX (Software Define Everything) environment including hands-on scripting and development while building and integrating new innovative solutions
· Strong personal and stakeholder management skills, and the ability to operate effectively in innovation-rich environment
· Coordinate a combination of capability and resources that repeatedly deliver pilot projects to expectations and transition these to production platforms
· To have a track record of working with multiple projects in parallel
· To be able to demonstrate awareness and understanding of key areas of data and digital technologies of particular relevance to our ambitions
· Fun, social and energised and as happy working on projects with like minded team players and with their own initiative
Key Responsibilities:
· Generate innovative solutions in work situations aligned with visions and business strategy; trying and testing different ways to deal with technical challenges and opportunities.
· Perform, with limited supervision, network and security project, proposition development and refinement to deliver a professional, robust and operationally well supported outcomes.
· Plan and implement improvements/upgrades in networks to enhance our offerings and solutions.
· Deliver implementation to projects and to operations and sales departments in the organisation and operational acceptance and take-on of propositions.
· Provide advanced proposition support to isolate the remediate technical issues in new propositions when required.
· Support and integrate other proposition development programmes and initiatives to ensure connectivity and security is in line with Architectural standards.
· Ability to liaise confidently with third-party transit suppliers to ensure effective running of network services.
· Actively identify new areas for learning; regularly create and take advantage of learning opportunities; using newly gained knowledge and skills on the job and learning through their application.
· A thought leader in network security and a desire to grow understanding and skills in this rapidly expanding area and become in time a key resource within the organisation and technical thought leader within our industry sector
