I gather this info from several people that have taken their 1st Real LAB attempt !!!!!!

Frame-Relay
- switching = full mesh, even if u ask to config hub and spoke
- its always be hub and spoke configuration
- no inverse-arp at all
- you cannot use command multipoint, interface-dlci <in some cases>
- point to point u can use fr intf-dlci
- when frame relay config is combination of point to point and multipoint
then routing protocol affected, OSPF treat link differently <eth, ptp, mtp>
watch out !!!
- within this hub and spoke, there must be link-state and distance vector in combine
since igrp is out from lab beginning nov 02, eigrp will be there
-dont forget to put broadcast ! remember ospf
ATM
- PVC
- no inverse arp
- map pvc to ip
ISDN
- Legacy DDR
- ppp multilink - load threshold 50%
- ospf demand circuit
- alternate hostname
- Authentication CHAP
- username is not equal hostname
Catalyst
- root bridge
- portfast
- spantree timers <max age, forward delay etc>
- vtp
- filtering access
BGP
- BGP AND RIP backbone........filter routing update to IGP
- router x prefer to go thru backbone 1 router y thru backbone 2
- Reflector
- set med
- set weight
OSPF
- You cannot use IP OSPF NETWORK command
- Use neighbor command with OSPF
- use authentication <md5>
- there is virtual link
- hey......IOS 12 so use >> router ID .......for <<<< DR BDR election >>>> priority 200 at hub....0 at spoke
- need ospf broadcast command ?
- demand-circuit
EIGRP
- use distance..............eigrp take precedence over OSPF
DLSW
- encapsulation FST
- I can reach MAC address
- Filter SNA
- backup-peer
Redistribution
- single point = mutual > no filter, multi point = must filter <BGP and IGP>
- redistribution everywhere .. doh
IOS features
- ACL
- NTP
- Syslog
